Dolphins Challenge Cancer Charity Event, February 1, 2023

The SFBTA partnered with the Miami Dolphins to raise money for cancer research. Hosted at the Bru’s Room in Delray Beach, members of the South Florida Bond Traders Association, Miami Dolphins Alumni and Executives, and guests participated in a friendly bartending competition to help raise money for innovative cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of the University of Miami Health System. Congratulations to the winning team of Ian Burdette, Kate Ogawa, Rick Perez and Amy Steele. Our Dolphins Challenge Cancer Charity event raised over $10,000 and in its 13-year history, the DCC has raised over $63mm towards the common goal of challenging cancer and supporting those impacted by cancer through the work of Sylvester.

SPi | USA Forum, October 26-27, 2022

The South Florida Bond Traders Association was honored to be selected as the SPi | USA Forum Charity Partner. We were able to share our story and participate in a live charity auction which raised over $15,000 for The Hands and Feet, a local organization that serves the needs of children and families with an open child welfare case so that they can know the support of a caring, loving community. We would like to thank SPi for including us and helping us make a difference and give back to our community!

Americas Community Center Toy Drive, December 18, 2022

SFBTA Board Member Alain Troadec was honored to participate in the Americas Community Center 7th Annual Toy Drive in Immokalee. The Americas Community Center was created in 2001 to support and complement immigrants’ efforts to facilitate their adaptation in the American environment and support their aspirations and desire for progress. The Immokalee Toy Drive started in 2017 when the community of farm workers and their families were hit and lost the little they had during Hurricane Irma. We would like to thank Alain for including us and for his leadership in helping us make a difference and give back to our community!

Desmond Clark Zoom Meeting, February 17, 2021

We would like to thank our SFBTA Corporate Partner, Mesirow, for including us in their recent series of events recognizing Black History Month. On February 17th, Mesirow welcomed former Chicago Bear star and leadership coach, Desmond Clark. Desmond shared poignant moments from his early childhood to a Super Bowl career, with a focus on “Principles of Winning: 5 Keys to Create a Standard of Excellence” on and off the field.

2021 SFBTA Charity Poker Tournament, April 14, 2021

Congratulations, Al Raphael! Mr. Raphael, of S3, emerged victorious as champion of the SFBTA 6th Annual Charity Poker Tournament on April 14, 2021. Sponsored by S3, the virtual poker tournament raised $15,000 for BATI School. Participants were asked to make a donation in exchange for chips, with all money raised from the event – along with donations from SFBTA Board Members and S3 – benefiting BATI School. Since 2010, the BATI School has been building a sustainable model for education through the use of agriculture. BATI School allows Ayitian children to dream of a new future and enriches the local community by providing access to free education. Congratulations to Tobin Griser from S3 on finishing 2nd and Jonathan Ferrell of Janney for finishing 3rd. Thank you to S3 for your sponsorship and to all that attended!

Tips for Parkinson’s Delray, February 5, 2020

Tips for Parkinson’s traveled to Delray Beach where members of the South Florida Bond Traders Association and its guests participated in a friendly bartending competition, Tips for Parkinson’s Delray, to help raise money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation on its mission to put an end to Parkinson’s disease.  Congratulations to the Team Half Pints (Lori Terrazi, Alina Velazquez, Nicole James, Kathleen Moran, Phil Marinello, and Nick Scarpello) on winning the 14th Annual Tips for Parkinson’s event.  The Tips for Parkinson’s Delray event raised over $36,000 and in its 13-year history, Tips for Parkinson’s has raised nearly $3,000,000 for the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
